マラリア流行地図について アフリカは熱帯熱マラリアが猖獗を極めている地域で流行シーズンには特に注意が必要です。しかし、赤道の南北で季節は逆になり、気候により媒介蚊の発生する月が変わるので流行シーズンが地域により異なります。 この地図は、地形・気候データから、マラリア流行地域を理論的に算出した物です。実際の患者数からの地図ではありません。この地図で示す以外の地域でマラリア感染の危険がないことを保証する物ではありません。また、まだ、マダガスカルはデータがありませんが、ここもマラリア流行地です。 この地図は、http://www.mrc.ac.za/mara/maps.htmで公開されている、マラリア流行シーズンの開始・終了月の地図をコンピュータ処理して月別地図にしました。
Background This map is a theoretical model based on available long-term climate data. It has a resolution of about 5x5 km. Although it is reasonably accurate, it is not based on actual malaria data and may not reflect the real malaria status. It shows the theoretical suitability of local climatic, and therefore the potential distribution of stable malaria transmission in the average year. Please note that climatic conditions, and therefore malaria transmission, vary substantially from one year to the next. Malaria control activities can also dramatically alter the malaria transmission situation. More work is ongoing to refine this model.
