2 Which “should” should we use?
There are basically 3 types of should in English We should go see a movie tonight. This one means that going to the movies is a good idea. A suggestion is made. You should listen to your mother! Besides the good idea meaning, this usage also has a moral component to it. It’s the right thing to do. The train should be here any moment. This usage simply expresses an expectation and is quite different from the others. WE ARE USING THE FIRST TYPE OF SHOULD

くる Come きたら If I come よむ Read よんだら If I read はなす Talk はなしたら If I talk あう Meet あったら If I meet たべる Eat たべたら If I eat みる Watch みたら If I watch

4 Base た+ら+いいです We should watch a movie literally means, “If we watch a movie it would be good.” べんきょうしたら (if we study) + いいです (is good) = べんきょうしたらいいです。 (we should study)

5 Practice Time かいものする (to shop) We should shop = すしをたべる (eat sushi) We should eat sushi = ホンダをかう (buy a Honda) We should buy a Honda = ホンダをかったらいいです かいものしたらいいです すしをたべたらいいです
