エボラ出血熱 (Ebola hemorrhagic fever) 人獣共通
1994年コートジボアール、1996 年ガボン：この2カ所での発生にはいずれもチンパンジーが関与しているが、チンパンジーはヒトと同様終末宿主であり、自然界の宿主ではないとされている。前者は、死亡したチンパンジーの解剖に携わっていたスイス人女性が感染したもので、後者では、森で死亡していたチンパンジーに子供たちが接触し、感染発症したことが発端である。 エボラウイルス 患者の発 生があるたびに周辺で生態調査が行われているにもかかわらず、自然宿主の特定には至ってはいない。 最も重要な特徴は、血液や体液との接触によりヒトからヒトへ感染が拡大し、多数の死者を出す流行を起こすことであり、しばしば注目を浴びている。 国立感染症研究所 IDWR 2002年第32週号 Do not touch or eat meat of animals found dead in the forest (monkey, gorilla, chimpanzee, rat) 右図はWHOの予防ポスター

DISEASE OUTBREAK NEWS 20 February 2008: End of Ebola outbreak in Uganda 7 December 2007: Ebola haemorrhagic fever in Uganda – update The number of suspected cases has now risen to 93, including 22 fatalities. Laboratory analysis has confirmed the presence of a new species of the virus in 9 of these cases. 30 November 2007: Ebola haemorrhagic fever in Uganda 51 suspected cases, including 16 deaths have been reported.
