～て しまう Completion of an action Use: 1. To express that your have done something or will complete something. 2. To suggest regret, disappointment, inconvenience or a problem Formation: Verb て ＋しまいます・しまう Examples: ケーキを たべて しまいました I ate up the cake しゅくだいを わすれて しまいました I completely forgot my homework Note: This structure emphasises the fact that an action has already been completed and the focus is on the result.
