創造工学研修1996年より開始 工学への関心高める，実践的な研究に触れる １年生，前期：講義，後期：研修，３−５割受講 その中で，1999年よりワシントン大との共同研修を実施 いくつかの課題を選定，同じトッピクスを共有

Bi-national program on tsunami between Tohoku Univ. and the Univ. Washington F.Imamura, DCRC, Tohoku Univ. How can we plan and carry out a joint project between Japan and US ? Example of challenge; bi-national program Study the process in the communication, cooperation and its scientific discussion and understanding with the different background; history, life style and culture understanding of tsunami and its countermeasure against the disaster in each country is shared among students.

研修のアンケート　事後 日時 内容 1. 扱ったテーマに関しての感想（達成度，関心度） ・目的と内容に始めから関心があり，しかも面白い結果を得た（２） ・当初はあまり関心のあるテ−マではなかったが，研修を通じて興味が湧いた（９） ・大変苦労した．基礎からやると言っていたのに周りの学生の知識レベルが高かったせいか難しかった（３） ・テ−マには少し興味があった．残念だったのは，少し計画性がなかった（２） 2. 共同研修を通じて得られたもの ・自分の英語力の無さを痛感した．コミュニケ−ションの難しさを実感した．それでもテレビ会議で自分の英語が向こう（UWの人たち）に通じたときはうれしかった（６） ・一つの事を完成させるために夜遅くまで頑張ることを学んだ（３）　 ・パソコン知識　発表力（３） ・気づかない内に英語の力が上がった（２） 3. 共同研修で期待していたが得られなかったもの ・自由にテ−マを決められなかった（２） ・全員でシアトルへ訪問する（２） ・ワシントン大生との時間があまりとれなくてメ−ルでのやりとりがうまくいかなかった．（６）
