この報告の課題 OVERVIEW For large organization such as Tôdaiji, records of each internal division are generated & stored Several divisions--with changes over time-- participated in Ôbe estate management. Examining records from each division can concretely illuminate the history of Ôbe estate’s management 東大寺のような比較的大きな組織では,内部組織毎に資料が作成・保管される. 大部荘を経営したのは複数内部組織であった.そして経営主体は変遷があった. 内部組織毎の資料という関心を払うことで,大部荘経営の歴史がより具体的に理解できる.

鎌倉初期～中期: 重源による復興,東南院知行 Early-mid Kamakura: Chôgen restores Ôbe estate; Tônan’in assumes overlord’s rights (2) Source: Order of the office of Go-Toba In, 1206/4/15 (a medieval Tônan’in document included in Zuishin’in monjo) Addressed to officials of all provinces & Tôdaiji cabinet (3 deans) Response to cabinet’s demand to dismiss Chen He-ching from custodian post Appointed by Chôgen Chen: Chinese artisan who recast Tôdaiji’s Great Buddha Tôdaiji made the complaint to Go-Toba In; document kept as a proof record by Tônan’in. 元久3年(1206)4月15日後鳥羽院庁下文(随心院文書 ⊃ 中世東南院文書) 諸国在庁官人ならびに東大寺所司(三綱)宛,東大寺三綱の要求によって発給された.重源によって大部荘他の預所に補任された宋人陳和卿の罷免を要求したもの. 後鳥羽院への訴訟主体は東大寺本体,公験は知行者東南院が保管した.

鎌倉後期～南北朝初期:惣寺と東南院とでの移動 Late Kamakura-Nanbokuchô: Overlord’s Rights Toggle (Tôdaiji<-->Tônan’in) (1) Trouble with Jôdoji & deputy military steward (1292)--> overlord’s rights shift: Tônan’in -> corporate Tôdaiji 1283/12/10: Head monk of Tônan’in appoints reeve (Shinpukuji Hôshôin collection) Hôshôin of Shinpukuji in Owari province inherited religious texts from Tônan’in; medieval Tônan’in documents appear on the reverse side of these texts. 正応5年の浄土寺・地頭代とのトラブルが原因で,東南院から惣寺に知行が移る. 弘安6年(1283)12月10日公文職補任状案 (真福寺所蔵) 東南院門主が公文を補任する 尾張国真福寺宝生院は,中世東南院聖教が伝来.同聖教の紙背文書は中世東南院文書である.

鎌倉後期～南北朝初期:惣寺と東南院とでの移動 Late Kamakura-Nanbokuchô: Overlord’s Rights Toggle (Tôdaiji<-->Tônan’in) (4) (正応5年?)12月29日東南院門主御教書(真福寺所蔵) 地頭代との相論により,東大寺八幡宮法華八講への秋季供料が納められない.惣寺に知行を渡すことを約束する.年預五師宛,正文. 永仁元年(1293)12月7日関東御教書案(未成巻文書) 関東から六波羅への指示.「東大寺衆徒」として「大部地頭非法」を関東に訴えている. 1292?/12/29 order from Tônan’in head monk (Shinpukuji archives) Levies for Hachiman shrine Lotus sutra lectures not received because of dispute with deputy Pledge: control over the estate will be handed over to corporate Tôdaiji Addressed to this year’s master-in-charge. Original document. 1293/12/7 bakufu order (copy) Addressed to Rokuhara Tôdaiji monks’ assembly has complained to bakufu re violations by Ôbe military steward.

公文一族内相論文書の残り方 Dispute w/in the reeve’s family: extant documents
Dispute occurred during eras of overlordship by both corporate Tôdaiji & Tônan’in Original documents (complaint & defense) extant from era of corporate temple overlordship only Documents from Tônan’in era are no longer extant 訴訟は惣寺・東南院双方の知行の時期に存在する. 訴状・陳状の正文が残るのは惣寺知行期間のもののみ. 東南院知行の時期のものは,かつて東南院に保管されたが現在は存在しない.

南北朝末期～室町中期:惣寺と戒壇院 End of Nanbokuchô to mid-Muromachi: Tôdaiji (Whole Temple) and Kaidan’in
康暦元年1379の公文職の回復をきっかけに,戒壇院―油倉が大部荘経営に新たに参加する. 惣寺と戒壇院―油倉の分割知行方式. 領家方の分割知行は年貢の分配.土地の分割ではない. Revival of dispute over reeve’s rights --> involvement of Ordination PlatformーOil Storehouse in Ôbe management Division of overlord’s rights between Tôdaiji and Ordination PlatformーOil Storehouse Rents were divided--but not the land itself.

惣寺の知行：領家方三分二 Tôdaiji Overlordship: 2/3 of Proprietor’s Rights
Corporate Tôdaiji appointed a deputy who contracted for a fixed amount in rent receipts Extant document: a contract dated 1419/5/14 giving a deputy 2/3 of proprietor’s rights on Ôbe estate (unrolled document) There is not an actual document concerning matters of management. 惣寺は定額年貢納入を請け負う代官を任命した（代官請）. 現存する文書は、応永26年(1419)5月14日大部荘領家方三分二所務代官請文(未成巻文書)ほかのみ. 具体的な経営文書はない.

戒壇院・油倉の知行 Kaidan’in•Oil Storehouse Overlordship
1/3 of proprietor’s rights; reeve’s rights; name fields (Tsunekiyo, Iô, Tôshichi) Oil Storehouse functionaries managed estate directly. Oil Storehouse functionaries made many land registers; took charge of cultivation “on the ground,” including proprietor’s 2/3 Even communications from local cultivators were addressed to Oil Storehouse There is a collection of documents known as Ordination Platform-Oil Storehouse Documents. 領家方三分一・公文方・諸名(恒清・伊王・藤七名) 油倉構成員を荘主として直接経営. 油倉構成員によって多数の帳簿類が作成された.油倉は,領家三分二も含めた荘園現地の耕作状況を把握している. 在地百姓からの書状も油倉を宛先とする. 戒壇院・油倉文書という文書の固まりがあった. 惣寺と油倉との関係 Relationship between Tôdaiji & Its Oil Storehouse
Oil Storehouse took charge of collecting rents from Ôbe estate, and handed over a percentage of the rent to the deputy of the corporate temple, which held 2/3 proprietor’s rights. 現地の収納は油倉が担当し, 領家2/3方代官に年貢を渡す.

Copy of the ledger of the Ôbe estate proprietor’s share of the rents, 1402/11 (Tokyo University Faculty of Literature archives) Submitted by the reeve & master of the estate Reichin (he affixes his seal) Distributes rents as follows: 2/3: 124 koku 8 to 9 shô 4 gô 3 shaku ( koku) 1/3: 64 koku 3 to 7 shô 1 shaku ①応永9年(1402)11月日大部荘領家方年貢算用状案(東京大学文学部所蔵) 差出が「公文荘主霊珍 「判」. 三分二-124石8斗9舛4合3夕 三分一-64石3斗7舛1夕に年貢を分配. See Ono shishi 466 (Rule of thumb: 1 koku of rice feeds 1 person for 1 year. Usually 1 koku=180 liters but the size can vary.)

Ledger of the Ôbe estate proprietor’s 2/3 share of the rent, 1402/11 (Tokyo University Faculty of Literature archives) Submitted by rent collector Ryûshun (signature) Allotted: 124 koku 8 to 9 shô 4 gô 3 shaku--the same quantity as (1) [2/3 share] This is the original presented to Tôdaiji by the rent collector; Doc. (1) seems to be an attached copy. Doc. (1) indicates Oil Storehouse’s direct involvement in management. ②応永9年11月日大部荘領家方三分二年貢算用状(東京大学文学部所蔵) 差出が「給主隆春(花押)」. 124石8斗9舛4合3夕を分配する.①の三分二の額に一致. ②は給主が惣寺に提出した正文,①は副進の案文と見られる ①の油倉方が経営に直接関与している.

残された課題 南北朝期の実態究明 Questions Remain: Nanbokuchô Situation
Existence of documents dated attesting to military service by Kose Yajirô, deputy of the reeve (the nun Seia) [Shinpukuji archives]: This was when overlordship belonged to the corporate temple, but were these documents presented afterwards to Tônan’in when it took over? 暦応2年・3年(1339・40)の公文尼性阿代古世弥次郎着到状案・軍忠状案 (真福寺所蔵)の存在: 惣寺方知行期間であるが,後に東南院が知行していた期間に東南院に提示されたものか. 残された課題 南北朝期の実態究明 Questions Remain: Nanbokuchô Situation
Ledgers of Ôbe estate rents dated 1364/12 (documents in the Kanô Kôkichi family collection): No record of payments by the reeve; the 2/3-1/3 division is recorded; the ledger is signed by “Jôken” and “the deputy Genshû.” It seems highly likely that at the time, Tôdaiji & Tônan’in had divided up the overlordship. 貞治3年(1364)12月日大部荘年貢算用状(狩野亨吉氏蒐集文書): 公文給の記載がない,三分二と三分一の記載,「定賢」と「御代官源秀」の連署. この時期は,惣寺と東南院が知行を分割していた可能性が高い.
