You can speak English, can’t you? The structure of tag questions Pattern 1 (positive sentences, with negative tags) S ＋ (Auxiliary verb) ～, (Auxiliary verb) ＋ ＋S? (e.g.) 「それは正しいです。」　　 　　 It’s true. 「君は英語が話せます。」　　 　　 You can speak English. not 助動詞(be, do, have, will…) Contraction(短縮形 isn’t, didn’t, can’t…) ⇒ 「それは正しいですよね？」 It’s true, isn’t it? ⇒ 「君は英語が話せますよね？」 You can speak English, can’t you?

What is the difference? You love me, don’t you? 「私のこと好きでしょう？」 Rising intonation 「私のこと好きだよね！」 Falling intonation
