この女の人は、「おりひめ」です。This woman is Orihime, the Weaver Princess. おりひめは、神様(かみさま)の娘(むすめ)です。Orihime is the god, the Heaven Emperor’s daughter. おりひめの仕事(しごと)は、はたを織(お)ることです。Orihime’s job is to work the loom. おりひめは、毎日、朝から夜までよく働(はたら)きます。Orihime works hard from morning until night everyday.
この男の人は、「ひこぼし」です。This man is Hikoboshi, the cowherd. ひこぼしの仕事(しごと)は、牛の世話(せわ)をすることです。Hikoboshi’s job is to tend the cows. ひこぼしも、毎日、よく働(はたら)きます。Hikoboshi also works hard everyday.
おりひめも、ひこぼしも、よく働(はたら)きます。Orihime and also Hikoboshi work hard でも、いつも一人です。but they are always both alone. 神様(かみさま)は心配(しんぱい)です。The god, the Heaven Emperor worries about them. 神様(かみさま)は、おりひめに言いました。The god says to Orihime, 「おりひめ、ひこぼしと結婚(けっこん)してもいいですよ。 ‘Orihime, you may get married to Hikoboshi. ひこぼしはとてもいい人です。」Hikoboshi is a good person.’ おりひめとひこぼしは、結婚(けっこん)しました。Orihime and Hikoboshi got married.
結婚(けっこん)してから二人は仕事(しごと)をしません。After getting married the two do not work. 二人は、毎日遊(あそ)びます。The couple have fun everyday
神様(かみさま)は、とても怒(おこ)ってしまいました。The god got very angry. 「仕事(しごと)をしてください！」‘Do your work please!’ でも、二人は仕(し)事(ごと)をしません。But the two of them do not work.
神様(かみさま)は、二人に言いました。The god said to them, 「おりひめ、天(あま)の川(がわ)の西(にし)に行ってください」‘Orihime, go to the east of the Milky Way. 「ひこぼし、天(あま)の川(がわ)の東(ひがし)に行ってください」Hikoboshi, go to the west of the Milky Way.’ 「ひこぼし、さようなら」‘Hikoboshi farewell’ 「おりひめ、さようなら」‘Orihime farewell’ 二人は、まじめに仕(し)事(ごと)をするようになりました。 The two returned to working hard でも、悲(かな)しいですから、いつも泣(な)きます。but they always cry because they are sad.
神様(かみさま)はかわいそうだと思って、 The god felt sorry for them and said that １年に１回、７月７日だけ、おりひめとひこぼしが会ってもいいと言いました。 Orihime and Hikoboshi could meet up just once a year on the 7th of July.
